This course is specifically for Foster Carers and will cover information on the law, guidance and procedures that protect and safeguard children nationally and within your local area. It will also provide evidence towards meeting Induction Standard Six; Safeguard Children and Young People.

• Understand the different ways children and young people can be harmed by adults, other children and young people including the internet.
• Understand the different ways children and young people can be placed at risk of abuse and the signs and indicators of possible abuse and neglect.
• Understand the procedures you need to follow if you suspect a child is being abused or neglected and the action you might need to take.
